State Parks and State Forest Campgrounds
One of the largest state parks in the Lower Peninsula, Hartwick Pines has 49 acres of old-growth Pine forest, a visitor center and logging museum. Also in Crawford County is Higgins Lake which is one of Michigan’s largest and most beautiful lakes with boating access, a designated swim beach and picnic area. Both parks are popular places for hiking, camping and cross country skiing.
